DESCRIPTION: Pterostilbenes is a natural counterpart of resveratrol, found among others in fruits such as blueberries, cranberries, and grapes. It belongs to a group of compounds called phytoalexins. Plants produce these compounds to defend themselves against pathogens such as bacteria and fungi. Of all fruits and vegetables, blackberries contain the most antioxidants. Pterostilbenes, found among others in blueberries and grapes, used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine, dissolve very well in fats, thanks to which they are better absorbed when taken in supplement form. Current research estimates their bioavailability at around 80%.
